Under Authority

Surrender is another word from the subject or the subject under the authority of, the word implies losing, and no one wants to be a loser. Surrender cause unpleasant picture is to admit defeat in battle, was defeated in a game, or surrender to the enemy stronger. The word is almost always used in negative contexts. In this era of competition culture we are taught to never give up and never submitted, so we do not hear a lot about surrender.

If the win is crucial, then the surrender is the unthinkable. We prefer to talk about the matter of victory, success, defeat, conquer rather than about to yield, submit, obey and surrender. But surrender to God is the essence of worship in, Romans 12:1 "Therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God I beseech you, that ye present your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God: it is your worship True."

God wants our lives entirely, there are three barriers that hinder our total surrender to God, namely fear, vanity and vacillation. We did not realize how much God loves us, we want to control our own lives and we misunderstand the meaning of surrender. Believe is an indispensable element to surrender, we will not surrender to God unless we trust Him, but we can not trust him before we know Him better.

Fear prevents us from surrendering, even we always think of God as judge of a cruel and authoritarian, but the love of God get rid of all fear. The more we realize how much God loves us the more easily in our surrender to Him, because He is very concerned with our lives until the smallest things, He gives us the ability to enjoy all kinds of pleasures, he has good plans for our lives and He is full of mercy towards us.

God loves us so much bigger than what we can imagine, the most powerful statement about God's love to us is the sacrifice of the Son of God for us. Romans 5:8 He said: "But God demonstrates His love to us, because Christ died for us, while we were yet sinners. God is not a harsh slave or a bully that uses the power rudely to destroy our will, but he persuaded us to Himself so that we can give ourselves freely to him. When we completely surrender ourselves to Jesus and He will guide the preserve, protect and even save us.

The second barrier to the total surrender is our arrogance, we do not want to admit that we are creatures and not only has power over all things. Life is a struggle, but what is not realized by many people is that we wrestle like Jacob, who is actually a struggle with God. Consciously or unconsciously sometimes we want to be like God, therefore we will never win the struggle. We are not God and never to be God.

We are human when we are trying to become God then we eventually become like Satan, who wanted the same thing. We accept our humanity with reason and emotionally, when faced with our limitations, we react with irritation, anger and hurt. We want to be taller, more intelligent, stronger, more talented, prettier, and richer. We want to have everything and do everything with our arrogance and we become disappointed when it did not happen, then when we see that God gives people special features that are not ours, we begin to respond with envy, jealousy and self-pity.

The third barrier is the indecision, vacillation will not make us be in the surrender of the plan of God in our lives. "Because even though there was no basis to expect, but Abraham also hope and believe, that he would become the father of many nations, according to who had said:" So many generations later. "
His faith did not become weak, even though he knew that his body was very weak, since he has about a hundred years, and that Sarah's womb was closed. But on the promise of God he did not waver because of unbelief, he even strengthened in his faith and he glorified God, with full conviction, that God is able to implement what he has promised. Because this was accounted to him as righteousness. "(Romans 4:18-22).

Surrender to God it does not mean passive resignation, fatalism, or an excuse for the lazy. Surrender is not accepting the status quo, surrender could mean absolutely the opposite: sacrificing our lives, or suffer for the sake of changing what needs to be changed. God often calls those who gave themselves up to do battle for him. Another aspect of the surrendered life is trust. Abraham followed God's leadership without knowing where he'll take it.

Know that we surrender ourselves to God when we lean upon God to make things work rather than try to manipulate others, to exert our will and controlling the situation. We let go of everything and let God work, we do not have to always be in power. The Bible says:
"And do not give up the members of your body to sin to be used as weapons of unrighteousness, but give yourself to God as people who once were dead, but who are now living. And hand over the members of your body to God as weapons of righteousness. "(Romans 6:13).
