Measuring Sticks

"For the Word of God .... Judges our hearts and minds" (Hebrews 4:12), the Word of God is piercing like a very sharp knife that can cut the toughest materials though. In the same paragraph, the Holy Spirit said that the Word of God "penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit".

Two sentences in Hebrews 4:12 shows us that the Word of God can reveal the depths of the human heart, even what can not seem to reach or hidden.
Reading or listening to the Word of God can reveal a very thin difference between the soul and spirit, and reveal whether a person lives in a psychological or spiritual life. The word "distinguished" by the Holy Spirit with a specific purpose to illustrate the role of the Word of God in our lives. In this case we can see that the Word of God provides a standard or "yardstick", as a measure of our lives.

Word of God gives us a way to assess our lives, so we can see if we're living in a way that is pleasing to God or the path that is still far removed from God. But the Bible does not the acts that appeared alone, which seems pure in the eyes of humans, Word also reveals the motivations of the heart, the secrets behind our actions. "... All things naked and open in front of him, that in Him we must give accountability" (Hebrews 4:13, Proverbs 16:2).

There is no interpretation exaggeration to say that the Word of God to test whether human life and the lives outwardly spiritual, physical and spiritual lives together under observation and careful monitoring of the Word of God.
There are times when we may be hesitant to our motivations. Sometimes a false conviction in our hearts breaking, that's the time when the Word of God can be sure or convinced us back and help us to find out how they should respond to God and His work in our hearts. The Holy Spirit will use the Word of God to guide us into all truth.

To avoid the use of the Word of God to judge others, then we must remember what Jesus taught his disciples. In Luke 6:37-42 "Do not ye judge, ye will not be judged ...." Jesus warned of judgmental nature and likes to criticize others, especially when we may be blinded by our own situation even worse in our lives.

Someone quick to judge other people's mistakes and ignore their own weaknesses, will be less useful in the hands of God to set an example to others lives for the glory of Jesus. We can serve God and others well, by the way first and foremost we must apply the power of understanding the Word of God for our own lives.
