Divine Dichotomy

Exodus 20:18-21, And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.
And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that you sin not.
And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.
A dichotomy of divine! The one closer, the other away. God has called His people to enter into intimacy, but they stay away from him through another road! They understand that the only people who fit with the character of God, as is depicted in the 10 commandments of the Lord, can stand in His presence and remain alive.
With the move away they're saying, "We do not want to live at such level that, do not let God speak to us today."
One thing that God wants them to do when He gives us 10 commandments of God to Moses was to purify their behavior so that He can do things even greater than merely observe them from a distance.

He wants to walk with them in the coolness in the midst of the wilderness. He wanted to sit with them and share his heart in an intimate communion.
Nothing has changed for us right now, He wants to do the same thing now with us, but the sad reality is that many Christians do not have any real feelings about the presence of God that the permanent stay, because we often refuse to rid themselves of chaos this life or maybe we've been trying to clean up the mess but we are stuck again in it.

When the people of Israel told Moses that they were scared, he tried to explain to them, "Do not be afraid, for God has come with the intention to try you, and with intent to fear him is in you, that you do not sin." (Exodus 20:20).

The Bible says, they stood at a distance while Moses approached the dew away the dark where God was. A remarkable picture, people ran to get there while Moses ran here. God is saying to us: "come closer to Me." He let us draw near to Him and now He has fallen down because He wants us all closer to Him together.

God always start with the leaders, and Moses had entered into the thick darkness once before at the top of the mountain. At that time, God wanted the people of Israel who else joined Moses in His presence. It states that the history of the Jewish faith experienced a decline from the moment God said, "come" and they replied, "not possible".

Feelings are not feasible in the presence of God made the Israelites feared closer. What about God's church today? There are people who are not worthy before God but, they feel worthy to stand in God even banquets that have become habits that must be done because of the demands of egoism and pride where there was no word of repentance to stand before God.
And God for them is merely a shadow of the future that is clear, there is or is not? And more worse, the Word of God is only used as a sword to judge others for their personal interests.
