Birth of Christ

Christ was born in the year 5 BC in a small town called Bethlehem. He was not born in a palace but in the sheepfold, and the bed was not the cradle of silk but the manger full of hay. This is the birth of a very simple and contempt for him who is the Son of God and the King of kings.

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the Period of Herod to come was the Magi from the East to Jerusalem and wanted to worship the King of the Jews, the wise men known as "MAGIC" in their original language are priests or wise men or like a party than a necromancer Medes tribes, the kingdom of Persia.

If they do come from Persia, how do they know about the "King of the Jews" (Matthew 2:2), this may happen, when in the area of the Babylonian exile of the Jews to preach to people about the coming of their Messiah Persian. It's very hard to understand how this Magi came to the conclusion that a Great King of the Jews who will be born only to guide the science of astronomy.

Their understanding of this Messianic possibility arises not only because they knew the stars but also the knowledge they will prophecy the old covenant, such as the prophecy of Daniel: "Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon your holy city, to finish the transgression, to an end to sin, to eliminate errors, to bring eternal justice, to fulfill the vision and prophet, and to anoint the most holy.

Then you will know and understand: from the moment the word was out, namely, that Jerusalem would be restored and rebuilt, until the coming of an anointed one, a king, there are seven times seven times; and sixty-two times seven times the length of the city will be rebuilt with terrain and its moat, but in the midst of adversity.

After sixty-two times seven days it will cut off a man who has been anointed, but not for anything. Then came the people of the prince shall destroy the city and the sanctuary, but the king would meet his death in the flood, and till the end of time there will be war and destruction, as specified. (Daniel 9:24-26), compared with 24 Numbers : 17, Matthew 2:16.

The appearance of the miraculous star that forced them to conclude that the time has arrived. Holy Spirit lead them in determining the timing of the prophecy and this phenomenon.

After a given location, the Magi set out to find the King who has been born, if we note that they found Jesus in the house. Matthew 2:11 says: "So they entered into the house and saw the child with Mary his mother, then fall down and worship Him. They also opened a place of their possessions and offered sacrifices to Him, namely gold, frankincense and myrrh. "

Jesus was no longer in the stable, sheep. It was obvious that the Magi did not arrive at the time of Jesus' birth but shortly thereafter. The possibility for some time after the birth of Jesus, Joseph and Mary had found laying on a nice place. Jesus also declared a "child" who is probably already one year old (cf. Luke 2:22, Matthew 2:16).

King Herod the Great wanted to kill the infant king. Joseph commanded the angels of God to bring the baby Jesus and Mary went to Egypt to save themselves, it's ironic that Jesus had to flee to Egypt, where God through Moses to lead his people out of the land of slavery to the promised land of abundant honey and milk.

Land of Israel should be the safest area for the infant Christ, the land that has given Himself to His People but this area has become the most dangerous areas and now Egypt became the most safe area for him. Did Jesus come at the right time? Yes indeed ...!. As Paul says that He came "after even-time" (But after even the time, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman and subject to the law of the Torah. He was sent to redeem them, which is subject to the law, so that we received a child). Galatians 4:4.

He comes when the people of Israel and the world is in desperate need of Him, at the time the trust the people of Israel are at their lowest and evil of this world are at its peak.

"He already is in the world and the world made by Him, but the world does not know Him" (John 1:10). "But all who received him of his right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name" (John 1:12). Does anyone in the world is a king who tried to come up with a low and despicable manner so? in addition to King Jesus, no! He came only to save us.
